Congratulations to Allison Renn! She is our Baitshop.com Beauty of the Month for September. You can find her on Instagram @allisonrenn! Read below to learn more about this awesome female angler!
1. Tell us a little about yourself!
“Hey everyone! My name is Allison and I was born and raised in Northeast Florida! Iβm currently cheering my 5th NFL season for the Jacksonville Jaguars and I’m also a Professional Angler for Pelagic. When Iβm not on the boat or on the field, I work full-time in Design and Development.”
2. When did you start fishing? And who got you into the sport?
“I started fishing off of my family’s dock with my father at a very young age. About 3 years ago I started dating my boyfriend Jordan and that’s when I became serious about it. Fishing with him reminded me so much of when I was younger and it brought my love for the sport back stronger than ever!”
3. What is your favorite fish to catch?
“Redfish! Iβm always up to catch anything, but I have a special place in my heart for redfish.”
4. What is the most difficult fish to fight?
“Tarpon! Without a doubt! I caught one earlier this year off of St. Pete Beach that was well over 160lbs. It was by far the strongest, most intense fighting fish I’ve landed. I had no idea how powerful and acrobatic those fish were. It was a blast and a catch that I’ll never forget!”
5. Do you have a favorite lure or bait?
“I love using swim baits. There’s just something about catching a nice redfish with an artificial swim bait that gives me a sense of pride and accomplishment.”
6. Do you have a favorite place or spot to fish?
“I live in Jacksonville, but most of my time on the water is spent up around Amelia Island. Itβs so beautiful and relaxing. Not to mention there are several different species to target.”
7. What are some of your other favorite hobbies?
“The older I get, the more I enjoy traveling. Iβm always up to explore new places and learn the great things each has to offer. I love trying new foods, meeting new people, learning the history and really immersing myself in the culture of different areas.”
