Tell us a little about yourself!
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. Received my BA in Communications and my minor in Deaf Studies from the University of Cincinnati. I work for my family business called Menke Poured Walls LLC!
When did you start fishing? Who got you into the sport?
I grew up fishing with my family at our lake house throughout summers as a child. Yet, I did not fall in love with the sport until my boyfriend, Brandon, reintroduced it to me in 2017. My first trip was to Gunnison, Colorado to fly fish for trout, and I was instantly hooked. Started taking fly flushing classes locally to gradually become a better caster and in time I have become more comfortable out on the water.
What is your favorite fish to catch?
Bonefish. Soon I’ll say permit and tarpon but I have yet to land those on a fly, yet!
Do you have a favorite lure or bait?
No, I do not really have a favorite. Depends what I’m going for. Christmas Island was my go to in Belize! But mostly shrimp works.
Do you have a favorite place or spot to fish?
Yes. Locally, I love the White Water River in Indiana for bass. For bonefish, Turks and Caicos is my favorite by far.
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
Traveling! I absolutely love visiting new locations. Whether it’s just exploring a new town or flying to a beautiful ocean. Traveling is an exciting hobby that anyone can experience with me while creating memories that last a lifetime!
