It’s happened to most every angler, a tangle in the line that interrupts the fishing and frustrates the angler. Watch this video to learn how to fix a back lash on a bait caster quickly and easily.
In case you missed anything, here’s a break down of the steps taken to fix this back lash. First, pull up on the tangled line and try to free the blockage using just your fingers. Then some tension should be released so gently pull from the top of the reel. Next, if the line gets stuck again you want to locate the tangle and free it using a small hooked tool. Once this is done put some pressure on the line and continue pulling the line out until it’s completely smooth. Make sure to pinch the line when reeling it back in and make sure not to snag anything else.
Now that you know how to fix a back lash there’s no need to get frustrated and cut your line should this happen to you in the future.
