There’s a new fishing license bill that we recently signed by California Governor Gavin Newsom which allows anglers to fish on a year-round basis, according to reports. The new bill allows fishing licenses to be valid 365 days from the date of purchase and will no longer expire at the end of the calendar year.
The bill requires anyone over the age of 16 to obtain a fishing license before engaging in the activity and they also must have it with them when actively fishing. In addition to this the bill will provide a mobile app with an electronic copy of the license.
The licenses can be purchased online from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, with prices ranging from $52 to $142 for residents and non-residents of sport fishing.
