While ice fishing in Salmon Lake, MT Julie Maez reeled a massive pike from the frozen body of water. The fish measured 21.5” and weighed 22.5 lbs.
According to reports she was fishing for about 10 minutes when she hooked the massive fish. She told reporters “Only took seconds to reel it in but once I got it to the top of the hole it fell off the hook and we had to grab it with our hands.”
As the day went on Maez and her angling partner Dan landed brown trout and some perch as well. It was a day for the record books under the big sky of the Treasure State.
