Michael Jordan reigns supreme once again, this time on the high seas! The basketball legend and his crew aboard the “Catch 23” dominated the 2024 Abaco Shootout fishing tournament in the Bahamas, crushing the competition with an impressive haul of 10 billfish.
Facing 57 other teams in one of the biggest billfish tournaments of the year, Jordan and his team reeled in 4 blue marlin, 5 white marlin, and a sailfish, amassing a total of 2450 points. The second-place boat, “Lo Que Sea,” trailed far behind with 1900 points.
Jordan wasn’t just a spectator on his own boat. He actively participated in the action, reeling in 3 of the 4 blue marlin and 1 of the 5 white marlin. Teammate Charlie Nicklaus also contributed to the win, catching a sailfish, blue marlin, and white marlin.
Captain Stetson Turney of the “Catch 23” was awarded the title of Top Captain for the event. The 82-foot Bayliss boat, adorned with Jordan’s iconic Jumpman logo, has become his vessel of choice for fishing adventures.
With frequent participation in prestigious tournaments like the White Marlin Open, Jordan is no stranger to the competitive world of billfish fishing. This resounding victory in the Abaco Shootout further solidifies his prowess on the water, proving that his winning spirit extends far beyond the basketball court.
