Erie Crowned Best Fishing Town in Pennsylvania

Attention Pennsylvania fishing enthusiasts: a recent study has identified the top fishing spot in the state, and the crown goes to Erie.

FishingBooker.com recently named Erie as the premier location for fishing in Pennsylvania, with three nearby towns also making the site’s top 10 list for the state. The study utilized six criteria derived from internal data from over 100,000 fishing trips, reviews, and reports over the past year, with each criterion contributing a maximum of 10 points to the overall score. This scoring system determined the top fishing spots in each U.S. state, with a maximum possible score of 60 points per location.

To be considered, each destination required at least one booking through the site. The criteria used in the study included:

  1. The number of available fishing charters
  2. Average review score
  3. Average recommended score
  4. Number of guides with the Angler’s Choice Award
  5. Number of bookings
  6. Minimum price of a fishing trip

Erie achieved an impressive score of 50 out of 60, tying with New Orleans, with only 22 cities nationwide receiving a higher score.

Additionally, other towns in Erie County, including Fairview, West Springfield, and Lake City, secured spots on Pennsylvania’s top fishing destinations list.
