Person Charged with Illegal Fishing in North GA Mountains

A person was arrested on Saturday for illegal fishing activities in the north Georgia mountains, specifically on the Chattahoochee River in White County. A game warden was dispatched to investigate a complaint regarding illegal fishing in the area.

Upon arrival, the game warden discovered the unidentified individual in possession of 24 trout, one bass, and one non-game fish. The individual was found using unlawful equipment for fishing, leading to charges being filed.

In addition to the charges, the game warden seized a fishing net and the caught fish. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has emphasized the importance of adhering to fishing regulations to preserve local wildlife and maintain ecological balance in the region.
