The Rock Reels in a Trophy Bass on His Virginia Farm

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the Hollywood superstar and former professional wrestler, recently showcased his angling skills by catching an impressive largemouth bass, which he proudly shared on Instagram. The catch took place at the pond on his Virginia property, with cameras rolling to capture the moment.

As reported by Country Rebel, the video begins with Johnson singing Merle Haggard’s classic, “That’s the Way Love Goes,” while casting his line. Right as he reaches the chorus, Johnson feels a tug—a sign that a fish has taken the bait. What follows is a spirited battle between “The Rock” and the fish, with Johnson eventually triumphing and bringing the sizeable bass to shore.

In the video, Johnson jokes about the fish’s fight, tying it back to the lyrics of the song. After estimating the bass to weigh between four to five pounds, he humorously admits that he’s not great at guessing fish weights, later speculating that it could weigh as much as eight pounds.

This fishing moment is just one of many where Johnson’s love for old-school country music is evident. A day before posting the fishing video, he shared footage of himself driving a UTV around his farm while listening to the Charlie Daniels Band’s “My Beautiful America.”

Johnson’s appreciation for country music has been well-documented on social media. In April, he even co-starred in a music video with Chris Janson for the song “Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get,” where the two cruised around in an old truck together. Johnson later shared a YouTube video explaining how he and Janson became friends.

Johnson’s fishing content, combined with his passion for country music, offers a unique glimpse into his life on his Virginia farm, blending the peacefulness of the countryside with the thrill of the catch. To watch Johnson’s fishing adventure, check out his Instagram video.
