Manning and Brady Rekindle Friendly Rivalry on Social Media with Fishing Pics

The playful rivalry between NFL legends Eli Manning and Tom Brady continues, this time off the field and onto the high seas!

On Monday, Brady posted a photo on Instagram of himself shirtless, holding a fish. Manning, never one to miss an opportunity for a good jab, took to X (formerly Twitter) to respond.

“Cute Minnow, Tom!” Manning wrote, playfully downplaying the size of Brady’s catch.

The exchange didn’t stop there. Brady fired back with a humorous reference to one of the most iconic moments in Super Bowl history.

“You use a helmet to catch that one too?” Brady asked, referencing David Tyree’s legendary “helmet catch” in Super Bowl XLII. This play, where Tyree pinned the ball against his helmet for a crucial 32-yard reception from Manning, helped the New York Giants defeat Brady’s New England Patriots 17-14.

This catch famously denied the Patriots an undefeated season, a feat no team had achieved since the 1972 Miami Dolphins.

Manning’s two Super Bowl victories, in XLII and XLVI, both came against Brady’s Patriots. This friendly jab on social media highlights the enduring sportsmanship and good humor between the two quarterbacks, despite their on-field battles.
