Lake Simcoe in Ontario is a bountiful spot for ice fishing especially when it comes to perch. Check out this video and see some under the ice footage of big perch strikes.
Did you see how many perch were just hanging out under that hole? An angler could have speared them they were so close. That big perch that wasn’t interested in this guy’s bait looked like a monster and could have been about 15 to 16 inches.
This is a typical day in the shallow waters of the Lake Simcoe bay where the perch hang out. If you ever get out here for ice fishing remember that the deeper parts of the lake hold Lake Trout among other great species of fish.
