Kevin VanDam is one of the most decorated bass anglers around today meaning he knows a thing or two about catching bass. He shares some of his secrets on catching bass during the winter months below.
That was some great advice about fishing during the winter when water temps drop. Cold water conditions usually mean bass don’t want anything next to them and when these baits come near them they will react to it even in dirty water where they can see.
As Kevin mentioned, flat-sided baits send lateral sonic images that bass pick up on easily. Contradictory to this the wiggle wart baits are rounded but their wide wobble will send of a great sonic image as well. Keep this in mind as you hit the water and the water is either cold or dirty or both.
