Did you hear what reel speed this angler prefers to use? He likes to fish with a 6.6: 1 ratio reel because it delivers the most power in relation to the speed. Going as high as 8, 9, or 10 doesn’t give any more power, it simply means the bait can be reeled in faster.
The few times you may need the speed to get a fish that’s running fast are outweighed by the need to have that power when fishing in the weeds. Remember that reel ratios dictate how much line you pull per turn, not the power each turn makes.
