While there are many tricks anglers use to entice fish to bite, pitching and flipping are a couple of methods many forget about. Watch this video below and brush up on these techniques so you can land some big fish this spring.
As you can see pitching and flipping are two great ways to place your lure in tight spots at close range. In case you missed any of this the steps are listed out below.
Flipping
1.) Start with the rod tip low and flip it up
2.) For better range of motion hold the rod sideways
3.) Hold the bait in your hand and let it go as you flip the rod tip
4.) Slowly let the tip down as the bait falls
Pitching
1.) Start with the rod tip down and pull the line from just above the reel
2.) For better range of motion hold the rod sideways
3.) Hold the bait in line hand and let it go as you flip the rod tip
4.) Slowly let the tip down as the bait falls
Keep in mind that pitching is better for closer quarters as the bait typically won’t go as far as flipping it will. When you’re on the water next, try out these two methods and see which one catches you more fish.
