As you just saw a common mistake on the double haul is making inconsistent hauls on the line. You should be making a similar and generally shorter haul on both the back and fore cast. Pulling on the line this way at one and eleven o’clock to increase the line speed. Make the haul the same length as your stroke and you’ll be able to drastically increase your line speed.
