Akeley Fahnholz, at just five years old, has already made a name for herself in the world of fishing by breaking Idaho’s catch-and-release length record for peamouth with her 14.125 inch catch.
The catch was made in the Snake River near Bliss on February 25th, 2023, and he beat out her uncle who held the previous length record for peamouth. This is not her first time in the angling spotlight because last year she was recognized by the Gem State for her Jack Chinook salmon caught from Hayden Pond.
Fahnholz is a young angler who has been shattering state fishing records one cast at a time. Her passion for fishing and natural talent are an inspiration to all anglers. If you’re considering getting your kids into fishing be sure to make it fun, bring snacks, and be encouraging. One day they may be breaking records like Fahnholz.
