On a trip out to Long Island, New York Darcie brings her massive fishing rod. Watch as she lands a nice bluefish while spoon fishing.
Did you notice the retrieve technique she was using to lure the fish? She would throw the line out and keep the bale open for 10 seconds to let it drop into the current. Next she would pull the rod tip up and let the bale out again for a few seconds and repeat the process. That way the lure bounces up and down in the current attracting the bluefish.
She was hooking those bluefish like there was no tomorrow. Darcie used a 2.25 ounce Hopkins lure to land that fish in case you missed it. Head out to Long Island and try this method out for yourself next time you’re in the area.
