Service Members Have Access to Fishing as Therapy from Vero Beach Veteran

Mental health is a serious issue often overlooked especially when it comes to veterans. The news clip below features a story about a veteran of Vero Beach and what he’s doing to help those who served have a better quality of life through fishing.

As you just saw Kevin Klepac is the founder of Wounded Waters, an organization that let’s veterans know they are not alone in the fight with mental illness. The idea is to take former soldiers fishing and help them with their transition back into civilian life.

To date Klepac has helped close to 200 veterans find a new perspective and a renewed appreciation for the good things in life. “The littlest thing or the littlest gesture could save someone’s life and you’ll never know about it,” Klepac told reporters. This highlights the notion that anyone can make a difference for those who sacrificed so much for their country.
