Heroic Dad Fishing with Son Saves Lives of Two Kids Before Drowning

A father named Marvin Alexan Fernandez Chicas, 37, drowned while fishing with his three-year-old son Dylan at Tohickon Creek in Pennsylvania, USA. He spotted two children struggling to swim in the lake and successfully rescued them but then started to struggle himself and disappeared underwater.

The rescued children called 911 for help, but despite efforts to find him, Marvin’s body was recovered 25 feet from the shore. Swimming is prohibited in the creek and Lake Nockamixon, where the incident occurred, and authorities have urged people to adhere to the rules due to the dangers of the area.

An autopsy confirmed that Marvin’s cause of death was drowning and it was ruled as accidental. His family has started a GoFundMe page to raise funds for sending his body back to Honduras, where his mother lives, and to support his wife and son. Over $35,000 has been raised so far out of the $40,000 goal.
