Record-Breaking Fish Caught on Popular Georgia lake

In Bartow County, Georgia, a remarkable fish has been caught in Lake Allatoona, setting a new record. Caleb McLure ventured out to the lake recently and managed to reel in what is believed to be the largest longnose gar ever caught in the lake’s history.

The impressive specimen measured just under 5 feet long and weighed a staggering 27 pounds and 4 ounces. This weight surpassed the previous lake record by a significant 15 pounds, as confirmed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Additionally, the fish was only a few pounds shy of breaking the current state record of 31 pounds and 2 ounces, which was set in the previous year.
