According to reports, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is set to stock thousands of catfish in four lakes in the Houston area. This way residents won’t have to venture too far to find great catfishing spots.
Here’s a list of the lakes:
Burke-Crenshaw Lake at 4950 Burke Road, Pasadena
Mary Jo Peckham Park at 5597 Gardenia Lane, Katy
Herman Little Pond at 18660 Casper Drive, Spring
Missouri City C. P. L., Community Park at 1700 Glenn Lakes Lane, Missouri City
Craig Bonds, Director of Inland Fisheries, told reporters of a local lakes program, “Neighborhood Fishin’ lakes are conveniently located in urban and suburban areas so that Texans don’t have to travel to have a great experience. Catfish are fun and easy to catch for anglers of all ages and experience levels. If you’ve never fished before, these are the perfect places to get started. If you are an experienced angler, these are the perfect places to introduce fishing to a friend or family member.”
All of the lakes listed above will receive channel catfish every two weeks from now until the end of October. There will be a pause during the August heat. If you find yourself in the Houston area be sure to check out one of these lakes for some epic catfishing.
